250th Anniversary of the birth of Lord Nelson
Horatio Nelson, born in 1758, was a famous British naval officer, most notable for his role in the Napoleonic wars, masterminding the British victory at the Battle of Trafalgar.
Although he lost his life at Trafalgar, Nelson was bestowed with many posthumous titles and honours and is widely considered an icon of modern British history. His legacy is remembered through monuments such as Nelson's Column and Trafalgar Square in London.
